Arriving by air Oslo's main airport is Oslo Airport Gardermoen (55 km North of Oslo and 83 km from Ås).
Once you arrive at the airport, you have several options for ground travel. The airport's homepage includes additional information such as shuttle services, taxis and buses that service the airport, as well as information on car rental agencies located at the airport.
Moss Airport Rygge is located just 35 km south of Ås, and an airport coach service (Rygge-Ekspressen) stops close to the symposium venue (see below).
Alternative airport within driving distance (no direct public transportation to Ås) Sandefjord Lufthavn Torp (72 km from Ås and ferry across the Oslo Fjord). Transportation and other information can be found on the airport's homepage.
To symposium venue in Ås
Airport coaches The best way to get to Ås from Gardermoen Airport, is by airport coach from Oslo Airport Gardermoen. Take Flybussekspressen (route F11, final destination Fredrikstad). The journey to Korsegården (first stop) takes one hour, then a 10-minute walk to Matforsk. Please see Campus map. When you alight from the airport coach at Korsegården, take the walkway to the Shell station on the opposite side of the motorway, then continue along the road (RV152) until arriving at Matforsk on the left hand side (marked number 2 on the map).

If arriving via Moss Airport Rygge, Rygge-Ekspressen operates an airport coach with final destination Oslo, passing by Korsegården (10-minute walk from Matforsk).
Train It is also possible to the take the Airport Express Train (“Flytoget”) from Gardermoen airport to Oslo (20 minutes, running roughly every 10 minutes during daytime) and change to the local train marked final destination Moss at Oslo Central Station, Oslo S. This train runs on average once an hour. Ås is the third station on this line. www.nsb.no. From Ås railway station, take a taxi to Matforsk (5 minutes).
To hotel in Ski
If you choose to go directly to your hotel in Ski, take the Airport Express Train to Oslo (see above) then continue by NSB local train to Ski, Alternatively, take the airport coach from Oslo Airport Gardermoen Flybussekspressen (route F4) to Ski. Thon Hotel Ski is located next to the railway station in Ski.
Taxi from Ås to Gardermoen Taxi will cost appr. 990 NOK (=appr 125 EUR) - fixed price, if booked at least 5 hours in advance, will take appr 1 hour 15 min. Additional information.
Guests arriving by car to Thon Hotel Ski : For parking at Thon Hotel, contact the receptionist in the hotel lobby. Parking costs NOK 80 for each 24-hour period.
